GOD THE FATHER (16)
(Message by Tanny Keng)
1. God is your Father
(John 1:12-13)
(Romans 8:13-18)
For if you live according to the sinful nature, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live, {14} because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. {15} For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” {16} The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. {17} Now if we are children, then we are heirs–heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory. {18} I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.

1. God is your Father
(John 1:12-13)
But to as many as did receive and welcome
Him [Jesus], He gave the authority (power, privilege, right) to become
the children of God.
a) That is, to those who believe in (adhere to, trust in, and rely on) His name– Who owe their birth neither to bloods nor to the will of the flesh [that of physical impulse] nor to the will of man [that of a natural father], but to God. [They are born of God!]

(1 John 3:1)
Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God.

2. Other Scriptures
(Acts 17:24-28)
“The God who made the world and everything in it is
the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by
hands. {25} And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed
anything, because he himself gives all men life and breath and
everything else. {26} From one man he made every nation of men, that
they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times set for
them and the exact places where they should live. {27} God did this so
that men would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him,
though he is not far from each one of us. {28} ‘For in him we live and
move and have our being.’ As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are
his offspring.’
