BIBLE'S OUTLINES & THEMES (1)
(Message by Tanny Keng)
1. Introduction
a) The Bible is full of wonderful stories and special truth. What we want to do is to discover the Bible.
b) Psalm 119:11 says, "Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You."
c) Nurture and grow your understanding of the Bible as you read and discover the Bible.
2. Its books
a) There are 66 books in the Bible.
b) They are divided into two major divisions: The Old Testament and the New Testament.
c) Some Bibles (Catholic and New English) may also include a section between these two divisions, called The Apocrypha. This section is so placed because it deals with the historical period between the Old and New Testaments, called The Inter-Biblical Period. At the appropriate place, we will discuss these "extra" books, and why they are not considered to be inspired - although some of them are excellent historical records.
