BIBLE'S OUTLINES & THEMES (5)

1. Introduction
a) The Bible is full of wonderful stories and special truth. What we want to do is to discover the Bible.
b) Psalm 119:11 says, "Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You."
c) Nurture and grow your understanding of the Bible as you read and discover the Bible.
2. The Bible's themes
a) Man's fallen condition
i) Two lines extend from Adam's children.
ii) The "God Seekers" - grace is provided.
iii) The "God Rejecters" - no provision from them!
b) God's plan of redemption
i) Jesus Christ - "No man comes to the Father except by me."
ii) He is not only the Savior of the world, but also the King of the Jews.
c) Israel, a chosen people
i) A nation with a spiritual purpose!
ii) They are called to witness to the nations about Jehovah, the only true God.
iii) They become a disobedient people, scattered among the nations in judgment.
iv) Nevertheless, God's covenants with them are to be fulfilled, and they will become a witness to the nations!
v) Key persons:
@1. Abraham, the father of the nations.
@2. Moses, the deliverer of God's people.
@3. Joshua, the conqueror of the Land.
@4. David, the beloved King.
@5. Prophets, the spokesmen of God.
