a) Jesus was tempted by Satan in the rough Desert of Judea before returning to his boyhood home, Nazareth. John's gospel tells of Jesus' journeys in Galilee, Samaria, and Judea (see John 1-4) before he moved to Capernaum to set up his base of operations (see Matthew 4:12,13).
