a) The Bible is full of wonderful stories and special truth. What we want to do is to discover the Bible.  

b) Psalm 119:11 says, "Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You." 

c) Nurture and grow your understanding of the Bible as you read and discover the Bible.  

2. Biblical Review: Israel, A Chosen Nation

a) Abraham: The Covenant.

b) Issac.

c) Jacob.

d) Joseph.

e) Bondage.

f) 500 years in Egypt.

g) Moses.

h) Joshua.

i) 12 Tribes, In the Land.

j) Judges.

k) "We want a King!"

l) David - the Golden Years.

m) Civil War: Israel, Northern Kingdom; Judah, Southern Kingdom.

n) Captivity: Israel in Assyria; Judah in Babylon.

o) Judah returns, resettles.

p) Old Testament concludes.

q) Revolt of Maccabees: Israel an independent nation; Romans smash Israel's independence; guerrilla warfare by Zealots.

r) Promised Messiah Arrives - rejected!

s) Jerusalem barricades itself; siege; a smashed Israel; distributed among the nations.

t) Vision of future - "The Golden Age."
