DISOBEDIENCE: APOSTASY & RENEWAL

a) A bewildering characteristic of the wilderness Israelites — their frequent acts of disobedience.
2. Apostasy And Renewal.
a) In the "church in the wilderness" — and their descendants in the promised land — we see a "type" or foreshadowing of the church of Christ.
b) The story of the Israelites is characterized by the many cycles of fall and renewal.
c) Time and again they fell into disobedience, then made a restoration. The history of the church is the same. So it is up to us to see that we are part of a renewal and restoration, not a part of a falling away into disobedience, error, and apostasy.
