ADVENTURES OF DAVID: A FEW FACTS

1. Adventures Of David
a) We look at the time in which David, not yet king, grows in power and popularity among the people.
2. A few facts
a) The second king of Israel (2 Samuel 5).
b) Ancestor of Christ "The son of David" (Matthew 1:1).
c) Father of Solomon.
d) An accomplished musician.
e) Wrote many of the songs in the Book of Psalms.
f) Anointed by Samuel (1 Samuel 16).
g) Married Abigail (1 Samuel 25).
h) Committed sin with Bathsheba (2 Samuel 11).
i) God made an oath to David. God swore to David that one of David's descendants would sit on David's throne and reign for ever (2 Samuel 7, Psalms 89:3-4, Psalms 132:11).
j) This promise was a continuation of the SEED PROMISE made to Abraham. It was fulfilled in the death, resurrection, and ascension of Christ (Acts 2:22-36).
