STAY IN THE PROCESS

We often celebrate the finished product but forget the process that produced it.

We admire the tree but rarely think about the years of growth.

We celebrate the testimony but often overlook the tears.

We admire spiritual maturity but may not appreciate the difficult seasons through which God developed it.

KEY SCRIPTURE

“But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.” — James 1:4

The process is doing something in you.

It is developing endurance.

It is exposing weaknesses.

It is strengthening character.

It is teaching dependence upon God.

DON'T ABANDON WHAT GOD IS DEVELOPING

A common temptation during difficult seasons is to escape too quickly.

We want immediate relief.

We want immediate answers.

We want immediate results.

But sometimes leaving the process prematurely means leaving before the lesson is complete.

Israel spent years in the wilderness.

David spent years waiting for the throne.

Joseph spent years moving through difficult circumstances.

Jesus Himself spent years in preparation before His public ministry.

God is not afraid of preparation.

THE PROCESS MAY BE MORE IMPORTANT THAN THE PRODUCT

You may be asking God for the destination while He is concentrating on the person who will arrive there.

Because if the destination comes before the development, you may possess the blessing without having the maturity to steward it.

God is interested not merely in giving you something.

He is interested in making you someone who can carry what He gives.

THE TWIST

The process you want to escape may be the process God is using to prepare you.

WHAT CAN I LEARN?

I can learn not to despise gradual growth.

I can learn that slow does not necessarily mean wrong.

I can learn that preparation is part of God's work.

HOW DOES IT APPLY TO ME?

Stay teachable.

Stay prayerful.

Stay faithful.

Don't abandon spiritual disciplines simply because results are not immediate.

Don't quit serving because recognition is absent.

Don't stop growing because progress feels slow.

FINAL REFLECTION

What if God is not merely taking you somewhere?

What if He is preparing you for where He is taking you?

CONCLUSION

Stay in the process.

You may not appreciate every stage now, but one day you may look back and realize that God used the very season you wanted to escape to prepare you for what came next.

PRAYER

Father, give me grace to stay in the process. Help me not to run from every difficult season. Teach me what You want me to learn, develop what You want to develop, and remove what needs to be removed from my life. Make me ready for whatever You have prepared. In Jesus' name, Amen.
