KEEP WAITING

Waiting can be one of the hardest expressions of faith.

We are accustomed to immediate responses, instant communication, rapid results, and quick solutions.

But God often works through seasons that require us to wait.

KEY SCRIPTURE

“Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart.” — Psalm 27:14

Notice that Scripture does not say merely to wait.

It says to be of good courage.

Biblical waiting is not hopeless resignation.

It is confident dependence upon God.

WAITING DOES NOT MEAN DOING NOTHING

Waiting on God can involve preparation.

While you wait, you can pray.

While you wait, you can study.

While you wait, you can grow.

While you wait, you can serve.

While you wait, you can prepare yourself for the opportunity you are asking God to provide.

Waiting is not wasted time when God is involved.

GOD KNOWS WHEN

There are things that would be harmful if received too early.

A child may want something immediately without understanding its consequences.

Likewise, we sometimes ask God for things without understanding the responsibility attached to them.

God knows when you are ready.

God knows when circumstances are ready.

God knows when the opportunity is ready.

THE TWIST

Waiting may not be God's way of saying “not yet” without purpose. It may be God's way of saying “prepare.”

WHAT CAN I LEARN?

I can learn that patience is part of spiritual maturity.

I can learn that God's timing is wiser than my urgency.

HOW DOES IT APPLY TO ME?

Don't let waiting turn into bitterness.

Use the season.

Ask God what He wants to develop in you while you wait.

FINAL REFLECTION

What could God be developing in you during the very waiting season you wish would end?

CONCLUSION

Keep waiting.

Keep believing.

Keep preparing.

Keep trusting.

The God who knows the destination also knows the right time to move you forward.

PRAYER

Lord, strengthen me while I wait. Keep me from becoming discouraged, impatient, or bitter. Help me use this season wisely and prepare for what You have ahead. Teach me to wait with faith, hope, and expectation. In Jesus' name, Amen.
