BIBLE FACTS ABOUT ANGELS

(Message by Tanny Keng)

1. Bible Facts About Angels

a) Luke 16:22 indicates that when the believer dies, angels could bring their spirit to heaven in the presence of God.  The word angels in Luke 16:22 is plural so this gives some indication that more than one angel is involved just as children have more than one angel (also plural) watching over them (Matthew 18:10).

b) Angels are actually commanded by God to “encamp all around us” and keep us from falling, getting hurt, who have been with us and will be with us “…from this time forth and forever to be with us”… and even strengthen us, and minister to us ( Psalms 34:7, 91:10-13, 103:21).

c) The angels are also messengers of ours to God and sometimes from God to us (Daniel 10, Matthew 18:10).  And it appears that there are particular angels for particular churches or church ages too (Revelation 1:20).

d) Angels are no weaklings either (Revelation 18:21).  In fact, angels have been known to carry out a death penalty for God on a king (Acts 12:20-25).  Does Acts 12:15 really mean that Peter’s own angel freed him from prison (Acts 12)?  That is what those who were in John Mark’s mother’s house said (Acts 12:15) when Peter came to their door and they said “You are mad. But she constantly affirmed that was so. Then they said, It is his angel,” however this is no conclusive proof that it was actually Peter’s angel that was assigned specifically to him.

e) At least we can take comfort in the fact that angels do exist. They serve both God and us  but ultimately, our protection is from God and not from angels.  They are real, no doubt, and it is no stretch of the imagination to say that each and every believer and each child before they reach the age of accountability could be or has been protected by them before, but we cannot dogmatically say that each believer has at least one angel assigned to them.

f) It appears that there may be even more than one at times but that doesn’t mean that they are their personal angel that God assigned to them.  We do know that they are watching over God’s children (Matthew 4:6. Psalms 91:11, 12) but God is the One, true Protector of His own.  If you are not a believer in Christ Jesus then you have no angels watching over you, and worse, God will not answer your prayers.  Why not come to faith in Christ today and come under His divine protection and have Him grant you eternal life by repenting and trusting in Christ?

The End ...
