REPENTANCE: ALIEN SINNERS

1. Repentance 

a) Repentance is not only sorrow for sins and humble penitence and contrition before God, but it involves the necessity of turning away from them, a discontinuance of all evil practices and deeds, a thorough reformation of life, a vital change from evil to good, from vice to virtue, from darkness to light. Not only so, but to make restitution so far as is possible for all the wrongs that we have done, to pay our debts and restore to God and man their rights, that which is due them from us. This is true repentance and the exercise of the will and all the powers of body and mind is demanded to complete this glorious work of repentance.

2. Alien Sinners Must Repent  

a) Who are they?

i) The millions of those who have never actually heard of the one, true and living God; along with those who knowing about God have never come to accept God and Jesus Christ, His Son; that is, those who have never obeyed the gospel and thereby been saved from their past sins. Such people are still in their sins, lost and condemned.

Acts 2:38  

38 Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Acts 3:19  

19 Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord,

Acts 17:30  

30 Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent,

Acts 26:20  

20 But declared first to those in Damascus and in Jerusalem, and throughout all the region of Judea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent, turn to God, and do works befitting repentance.
