UNSUNG HEROES IN ACTS (5)

(Message by Tanny Keng)

0. Introduction

a) When we think of the success of the early church, we often think of the work of the apostles. But the church could have died if it hadn't been for the unsung heroes, the men and women who through some small but committed act moved the church forward.

1. Hero

a) Rhoda.

2. Scripture text reference

a) Acts 12:13-15

i) 13 And as Peter knocked at the door of the gate, a girl named Rhoda came to answer. 14 When she recognized Peter’s voice, because of her gladness she did not open the gate, but ran in and announced that Peter stood before the gate. 15 But they said to her, “You are beside yourself!” Yet she kept insisting that it was so. So they said, “It is his angel.” (Acts 12:13-15 NKJV)

3. Heroic action

a) Her persistence brought Peter inside Mary's home where he would be safe.
