ABOUT DILIGENCE VERSUS LAZINESS (1)
(Message by Tanny Keng)
1. What does the Book of Proverbs say about Diligence versus Laziness?
a) 23 Above all else, guard your affections. For they influence everything else in your life. (Proverbs 4:23)
b) 6 Take a lesson from the ants, you lazy fellow. Learn from their ways and be wise! 7 For though they have no king to make them work, 8 yet they labor hard all summer, gathering food for the winter. 9 But you - all you do is sleep. When will you wake up? 10 "Let me sleep a little longer!" Sure, just a little more! 11 And as you sleep, poverty creeps upon you like a robber and destroys you; want attacks you in full armor. (Proverbs 6:6-11)
c) 4 Lazy men are soon poor; hard workers get rich. 5 A wise youth makes hay while the sun shines, but what a shame to see a lad who sleeps away his hour of opportunity. (Proverbs 10:4-5)
d) 26 A lazy fellow is a pain to his employers - like smoke in their eyes or vinegar that sets the teeth on edge. (Proverbs 10:26)
e) 27 If you search for good, you will find God's favor; if you search for evil, you will find his curse. (Proverbs 11:27)
f) 11 Hard work means prosperity; only a fool idles away his time. (Proverbs 12:11)
g) 24 Work hard and become a leader; be lazy and never succeed. (Proverbs 12:24)
h) 27 A lazy man won't even dress the game he gets while hunting, but the diligent man makes good use of everything he finds. (Proverbs 12:27)
i) 4 Lazy people want much but get little, while the diligent are prospering. (Proverbs 13:4)
j) 11 Wealth from gambling quickly disappears; wealth from hard work grows. (Proverbs 13:11)
k) 23 Work brings profit; talk brings poverty! (Proverbs 14:23)
l) 19 A lazy fellow has trouble all through life; the good man's path is easy! (Proverbs 15:19)
m) 26 Hunger is good - if it makes you work to satisfy it! (Proverbs 16:26)
