THE FATHER OF ALL COMFORT (2)
(Message by Tanny Keng)
1. The Father of all Comfort
(2 Corinthians 1:3-4)
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.
(Matthew 11:28-30 NIV)
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. {29} Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. {30} For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
2. Other Scriptures
(Psalms 119:50 NIV)
My comfort in my suffering is this: Your promise preserves my life.
(Psalms 119:75-77 NIV)
I know, O LORD, that your laws are righteous, and in faithfulness you have afflicted me. {76} May your unfailing love be my comfort, according to your promise to your servant. {77} Let your compassion come to me that I may live, for your law is my delight.
(Isaiah 26:3-4 NIV)
You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you. {4} Trust in the LORD forever, for the LORD, the LORD, is the Rock eternal.
