AN INSIGHTFUL THOUGHT: WHY GOING UP TO GOD'S MOUNTAIN ON 17 JULY 2016?

(Message by Tanny Keng)

1. An Insightful Thought

a) On Wednesday (15/06/2016) @16.59 pm, as I was pondering over the date (17/07/2016) of going up to God's Mountain in GCC Bentong, Pahang Malaysia, suddenly an insightful thought came to me and I grasped its representation.

i) Date 17/07/2016

17 = Number 17

07 = Number 7

2016 = Double (2 + 0) and Number 7 (1 + 6) = Double Number 7

So, we have Number 17 and Triple Number 7

ii) Date 15/06/2016 @16.59 pm

15/06 = 15 + 6 = 21 = Triple Number 7

2016 = Double (2 + 0) and Number 7 (1 + 6) = Double Number 7

Time 16.59 pm = 1 + 6 + 5 + 9 = 21 = Triple Number 7

iii) From items (i) and (ii) above, it would clearly show us Number 17 and a Double leading to Triple Number 7. What are the meanings for Number 17 and 7?

2. The Meanings

a) Number 17

i) In the Bible the number 17 symbolizes "overcoming the enemy" and "complete victory." God overcame the sins of rebellious humans when he began to flood the earth through rain on the 17th of the second Hebrew month. Noah's ark and its eight passengers rested on the mountains of Ararat on the 17th of the seventh month (right in the middle of God's annual Holy period known as the Feast of Tabernacles).

ii) Jesus Christ gained a complete victory over death and the grave when God resurrected him near sunset on Nisan 17 (Saturday, April 8, 30 A.D.).

iii) How does the number 17 symbolize our standing with God?

@1. In Romans 8:35 the apostle Paul asks a simple question which is "What shall separate us from the love of Christ?" He extends his question a little more by asking if the following seven things could separate us, which are tribulation, persecution, distress, nakedness, famine, the sword or any other danger. He then tells us ten things that CANNOT get between our God and us, which are life, death, principalities, powers, angels, things present or to come, depth, height or anything created. Thus we have 7 + 10 = 17, representing a Christian's perfect and eternal standing with God through Christ.

b) Number 7

i) Used 735 times (54 times in the book of Revelation alone), the number 7 is the foundation of God's word. If we include with this count how many times 'seven-fold' (6) and 'seventh' (119) is used, our total jumps to 860 references.

ii) Seven is the number of completeness and perfection (both physical and spiritual). It derives much of its meaning from being tied directly to God's creation of all things. According to Jewish tradition, the creation of Adam occurred on October 7th, 3761 B.C. (or the first day of Tishri, which is the seventh month on the Hebrew calendar). The word 'created' is used 7 times describing God's creative work (Genesis 1:1, 21, 27 three times; 2:3; 2:4). There are 7 days in a week and God's Sabbath is on the 7th day.

3. Why going up to God's Mountain on 17 July 2016?

a) It should seem really important enough to go up to God's Mountain on 17 July 2016. We simply heed the call in Isaiah 2:2-5:

Isaiah 2:2-5
There’s a day coming
    when the mountain of God’s House
Will be The Mountain—
    solid, towering over all mountains.
All nations will river toward it,
    people from all over set out for it.
They’ll say, “Come,
    let’s climb God’s Mountain,
    go to the House of the God of Jacob.
He’ll show us the way he works
    so we can live the way we’re made.”
Zion’s the source of the revelation.
    God’s Message comes from Jerusalem.
He’ll settle things fairly between nations.
    He’ll make things right between many peoples.
They’ll turn their swords into shovels,
    their spears into hoes.
No more will nation fight nation;
    they won’t play war anymore.
Come, family of Jacob,
    let’s live in the light of God.

4. What can we expect?

a) We can expect to overcome our enemies and not only that but assured of having a complete victory in our favor. It is going to be done in total completeness and perfection for both physical and spiritual sphere of our lives. The creative work of God will clearly be seen to this end.

Psalm 44:5
5 With your help we pushed back our enemies.
    In your name we trampled those who came against us.

Psalm 18:37
37 I chased my enemies and caught them.
    I did not quit until they were destroyed.

Psalm 44:7
7 You are the one who gives us victory over our enemies;
    you disgrace those who hate us.

1 Corinthians 15:55
55 O death, where is your victory?
    O death, where is your sting?

The End ...
