SET YOUR HOUSE IN ORDER

1. Materialism
a) Our economy is failing, and unless we repent and change our ways we will not see our economy recovering. Stop and look around you… Men are losing their jobs, their homes, their self worth, and more and more individuals are turning to our government for aid, support, and answers.
b) Materialism has taken root, and like a weed it has consumed us all!!! We are too caught up in what we have and what we want and how are we going to get this or that, that we don’t have time for our family, our children, our husbands or wives, our friends, or what is most important: God.
c) Materialism has consumed most of our lives. We have too much stuff… That stuff consumes our time, and our money. It takes away our relationships with others and God. Men’s hearts are failing… They are being weighted down by fear, anxiety, and distress from materialism. A man can not cope with all the responsibilities that he has taken on through materialism. We have too much going on and there are too many things happening around us. We have in essence become consumed by our own stuff.
d) Are we coping? Most men just go to their man made “caves” flip on the big screen plasma and get lost with a beverage of their choice. Their children are out doing their own things, and their wives are on the computer blogging on face-book. (Obviously there are men and women who are doing other things besides the above, but the point is that there is no togetherness and no time for God.)
2. Biblical Example: Set Your House In Order
a) A Biblical example is found in 2 Kings 20:1-11 and Isaiah 38:1-9, when the prophet Isaiah told King Hezekiah to set his house in order because he was going to die and not live, King Hezekiah prayed to God and wept sore. God heard his prayer, healed him, added 15 years to his life and delivered him and the city from the king of Assyria. As a sign God would do this, God made the Sun dial go backward 10 degrees.
b) If you need to set your house in order, why not pray to God, ask Him to heal you and deliver you from the enemy? from sickness and diseases? from sorrows and pains? etc.
James 5:16
16 Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much.
3. How Can You Put Your House In Order?
a) For a start, you may take the following steps:
#1) Abandonment of idols
1 Samuel 7:3
3 Then Samuel spoke to all the house of Israel, saying, “If you return to the Lord with all your heart, remove the foreign gods and the Ashtaroth from among you and direct your hearts to the Lord and serve Him alone; and He will deliver you from the hand of the Philistines.”
i) You need to get rid of materialism.
#2) Cleansing of God’s temple
2 Chronicles 29:15
15 They assembled their brothers, consecrated themselves, and went in to cleanse the house of the Lord, according to the commandment of the king by the words of the Lord.
i) You need to repent, turn back to the Lord. You may cleanse yourself by washing with water through the Word of God.
#3) Return to the Lord
Luke 1:17
17 It is he who will go as a forerunner before Him in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers back to the children, and the disobedient to the attitude of the righteous, so as to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.”
i) John prepared the way for Christ, you have that example… You need to turn your heart to God so that you can love unconditionally and are able to be wise and understand the things that God is revealing to you through His Word, circumstances, and things happening today.
Romans 12:2
2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.
#4) Personal purification
2 Timothy 2:20-21
20 Now in a large house there are not only gold and silver vessels, but also vessels of wood and of earthenware, and some to honor and some to dishonor. 21 Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from these things, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified, useful to the Master, prepared for every good work.
i) Let you become instruments of God for his use. You can not do this if you are consumed by materialism.
Matthew 6:24-25
24 “No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth.
25 “For this reason I say to you, do not be worried about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor for your body, as to what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?
ii) Choose for yourself today ...
Joshua 24:15
15 If it is disagreeable in your sight to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves today whom you will serve: whether the gods which your fathers served which were beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living; but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
4. Prophetic Word
"My people, in order for you to put your houses in order, you must defer all decision making to Me or My Holy Word. To be in order is to walk in My ways, do My will, and obey My commands.
Many of you have walked your own way and done your own will for all your lives. This was not My way for you, but in your stubbornness and rebellion, you refused to hear My voice or obey what was right.
Consequently, many of you now live lives filled with pain and torment, and you wonder why. Many doors opened to the enemy in your rebellion have brought you to this place.
If you will hearken to My voice and turn away from those things I lead you away from. I will now help you to set your house in an order that is pleasing in My sight. Many of you have much work to do, but some of you who have walked in My ways for many years have very little to set right to be in order in My eyes.
The enemy has set unlawful authorities over some of you within your own houses and I desire you would set this right. It is not My desire that you be out of order in your households. How can you obey Me if this is so?
In soon times coming, I will be shaking many nations. Households that are out of order cannot survive this shaking. You must put your house in order while there is yet time.
I love you, My children. I do not desire that you would fear what is coming. Draw near to Me and allow Me to protect you under My mighty wings. You will be safe if you will abide in My shadow."
