GOD IS MOVING
Sometimes God's movement is obvious.
Other times, it is subtle.
A conversation changes.
A new opportunity appears.
An old door closes.
A person enters your life.
A burden is removed.
A new conviction develops in your heart.
God can move through dramatic events, but He can also move through ordinary circumstances.
KEY SCRIPTURE
“The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.” — Psalm 37:23
God can direct individual steps toward a larger purpose.
GOD MOVED THROUGH ORDINARY EVENTS
Think about Ruth.
She experienced loss and uncertainty. She returned to Bethlehem with Naomi and eventually went into the fields to glean.
From Ruth's perspective, she was simply going to work.
But Scripture says she happened to come to the field belonging to Boaz.
What looked ordinary became part of God's providential direction.
Ruth eventually became part of the lineage through which Jesus Christ came.
DON'T UNDERESTIMATE SMALL MOVEMENTS
You may be waiting for something spectacular.
But God may be moving through something simple.
One meeting.
One conversation.
One opportunity.
One decision.
One act of obedience.
One relationship.
One unexpected change.
Never underestimate what God can do through an ordinary step.
THE TWIST
God's movement does not always look dramatic while it is happening.
Sometimes you only recognize His hand when you look backward.
WHAT CAN I LEARN?
I can learn to pay attention.
I can learn to remain spiritually sensitive.
I can learn that God's providence can operate through ordinary circumstances.
HOW DOES IT APPLY TO ME?
Don't overlook today's opportunities because you are waiting for tomorrow's miracle.
Be faithful in the ordinary.
God can use ordinary obedience to produce extraordinary consequences.
FINAL REFLECTION
What ordinary event in your life might God be using in a way you have not yet recognized?
CONCLUSION
God is moving.
You may not always recognize His movement immediately.
But keep walking faithfully.
PRAYER
Lord, give me spiritual discernment to recognize Your movement in my life. Help me not to overlook small opportunities or ordinary circumstances. Lead my steps and use every opportunity according to Your purposes. In Jesus' name, Amen.
