ROMANS: SALVATION'S FREEWAY

0. Introduction

a) Below are the scriptural basis for salvation's freeway in the book of Romans.

1. Everyone has sinned.

a) Romans 3:23

i) ²³ for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23 NKJV)

2. The penalty for our sin is death.

a) Romans 6:23

i) ²³ For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 6:23 NKJV)

3. Jesus Christ died for sin.

a) Romans 5:8

i) ⁸ But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8 NKJV)

4. To be forgiven for our sin, we must believe and confess that Jesus is Lord. Salvation comes through Jesus Christ.

a) Romans 10:8-10

i)  But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): ⁹ that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. ¹⁰ For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. (Romans 10:8-10 NKJV)
