TRUE IDENTITY IN CHRIST (3)

(Message by Tanny Keng)

0. Introduction

a) What is our true identity in Christ?

1. We are God's work of art - his "workmanship" (Ephesians 2:10).

i) 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. (Ephesians 2:10 NKJV)

2. We have been brought near to God (Ephesians 2:13).

i)13 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. (Ephesians 2:13 NKJV)

3. We share in the promise in Christ (Ephesians 3:6).

i) 6 that the Gentiles should be fellow heirs, of the same body, and partakers of His promise in Christ through the gospel. (Ephesians 3:6 NKJV)

4. We can come with freedom and confidence into God's presence (Ephesians 3:12).

i) 12 in whom we have boldness and access with confidence through faith in Him. (Ephesians 3:12 NKJV)

5. We are members of Christ's body, the church (Ephesians 5:29-30).

i) 29 For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord does the church. 30 For we are members of His body, of His flesh and of His bones. (Ephesians 5:29-30 NKJV)

6. We are complete in Christ (Colossians 2:10).

i) 10 and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power. (Colossians 2:10 NKJV)

7. We are set free from our sinful nature (Colossians 2:11).

i) 11 In Him you were also circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, by putting off the body of the sins of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ. (Colossians 2:11 NKJV)

8. We will have eternal glory (2 Timothy 2:10).

i) 10 Therefore I endure all things for the sake of the elect, that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory. (2 Timothy 2:10 NKJV)
