a) When Paul wrote his letter to the church in Rome, he had not yet been there, but he had taken the gospel "from Jerusalem all the way around to Illyricum" (Romans 15:19). He planned to visit and preach in Rome one day, and hoped to take the gospel farther west--even to Spain.
