1. Bible Topic
a) To learn what the Bible has to say on a variety of topics affecting our everyday lives, we may find what we are looking for here.
2. Power
a) God gives us power to become his children. It's in the Bible, John 1:12, RSV. "But to all who received Him, who believed in His name, He gave power to become children of God."
b) The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective. It's in the Bible, James 5:16, TLB. "Admit your faults to one another and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous man has great power and wonderful results."
c) Anger gives the devil power over you. It's in the Bible, Ephesians 4:27, TLB. "For when you are angry, you give a mighty foothold to the devil."
d) Giving yourself to God gives you power to resist temptation. It's in the Bible, James 4:7, TLB. "So give yourselves humbly to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you."
e) I can have Jesus' power to live the Christian life. It's in the Bible, Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me"
f) God's Word is powerful. It's in the Bible, Hebrews 4:12, TLB. "For whatever God says to us is full of living power: it is sharper than the sharpest dagger, cutting swift and deep into our innermost thoughts and desires with all their parts, exposing us for what we really are."
