1. Bible Topic
a) To learn what the Bible has to say on a variety of topics affecting our everyday lives, we may find what we are looking for here.
2. Law of God
a) What is the basic principle of the law of God? It's in the Bible, Romans 13:10, NIV. "Love does no harm to its neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law."
b) Love sums up God's law. It's in the Bible, Matthew 22:37-40, NIV. "Jesus replied: 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."
c) Jesus did not come to do away with God's law. It's in the Bible, Matthew 5:17-18, NKJV. "“Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled.
d) God's law offers direction, not justification. It's in the Bible, Galatians 2:16, NKJV. "knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law; for by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified"
e) It is our duty to obey God's law. It's in the Bible, Ecclesiastes 12:13, NIV. "Here is the conclusion of the matter. Fear God and keep His commandments, for this is the whole duty of man."
The End ...
