GOD COMFORTS US (3)
(Message by Tanny Keng)
1. God comforts us
a) Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. {3} Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, {4} who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. {5} For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows. (2 Corinthians 1:2-5 NIV)
2. Other Scriptures
(2 Corinthians 5:1-2 NIV)
Now we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands. {2} Meanwhile we groan, longing to be clothed with our heavenly dwelling,
(1 Thessalonians 1:6 NIV)
You became imitators of us and of the Lord; in spite of severe suffering, you welcomed the message with the joy given by the Holy Spirit.
(1 Thessalonians 3:3-4 NIV)
so that no one would be unsettled by these trials. You know quite well that we were destined for them. {4} In fact, when we were with you, we kept telling you that we would be persecuted. And it turned out that way, as you well know.
(Hebrews 2:9-10 NIV)
But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, now crowned with glory and honor because he suffered death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone. {10} In bringing many sons to glory, it was fitting that God, for whom and through whom everything exists, should make the author of their salvation perfect through suffering.

Remember those earlier days after you had
received the light, when you stood your ground in a great contest in the
face of suffering.
