THINGS GOD HATES

0. Introduction

a) The book of Proverbs notes 14 types of people and actions that God hates. Let these be guidelines of what we are not to be and do!

1. Oppressors, perverse people

a) Text reference: Proverbs 3:31 -32
 
i) 31 Do not envy the oppressor, And choose none of his ways; 32 For the perverse person is an abomination to the Lord, But His secret counsel is with the upright. (Proverbs 3:31-32 NKJV)

2. Haughtiness, lying, murdering, scheming, eagerness to do evil, a false witness, sowing discord
 
a) Text reference: Proverbs 6:16-19
 
i) 16 These six things the Lord hates, Yes, seven are an abomination to Him: 17 A proud look, A lying tongue, Hands that shed innocent blood, 18 A heart that devises wicked plans, Feet that are swift in running to evil, 19 A false witness who speaks lies, And one who sows discord among brethren. (Proverbs 6:16-19 NKJV)

3. Those who are untruthful

a) Text reference: Proverbs 12:22

i) 22 Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord, But those who deal truthfully are His delight. (Proverbs 12:22 NKJV)

4. The sacrifice of the wicked

a) Text reference: Proverbs 15:8

i) 8 The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord, But the prayer of the upright is His delight. (Proverbs 15:8 NKJV)

5. The way of the wicked

a) Text reference: Proverbs 15:9

i) 9 The way of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord, But He loves him who follows righteousness. (Proverbs 15:9 NKJV)

6. The thoughts of the wicked

a) Text reference: Proverbs 15:26

i) 26 The thoughts of the wicked are an abomination to the Lord, But the words of the pure are pleasant. (Proverbs 15:26 NKJV)

7. Those who are proud

a) Text reference: Proverbs 16:5

i) 5 Everyone proud in heart is an abomination to the Lord; Though they join forces, none will go unpunished. (Proverbs 16:5 NKJV)

8. Those who judge unjustly

a) Text reference: Proverbs 17:15

i) 15 He who justifies the wicked, and he who condemns the just, Both of them alike are an abomination to the Lord. (Proverbs 17:15 NKJV)
