BODY (3)

1. Bible Topic
a) To learn what the Bible has to say on a variety of topics affecting our everyday lives, we may find what we are looking for here.
2. Body
a) Christ is our example. It's in the Bible, 1 Peter 2:21, NKJV. "For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps"
b) In marriage, physically your body belongs to your spouse. It's in the Bible, 1 Corinthians 7:2-4, NIV. "But since there is so much immorality, each man should have his own wife, and each woman her own husband. The husband should fulfill his marital duty to his wife, and likewise the wife to her husband. The wife's body does not belong to her alone but also to her husband. In the same way, the husband's body does not belong to him alone but also to his wife."
c) Sexual immorality also defiles our body. It's in the Bible, 1 Corinthians 6:18, NKJV. "Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body"
d) After death our bodies will be brought back to life. It's in the Bible, I Corinthians 15:42, 51-53, TLB. "Our earthly bodies which die and decay are different from the bodies we shall have when we come back to life again, for they will never die. . . . We shall all be given new bodies! It will all happen in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, when the last trumpet is blown. . . . For our earthly bodies, the ones we have now that can die, must be transformed into heavenly bodies that cannot perish but will love forever.”
e) The body is an example of how the church should function. It's in the Bible, Romans 12:4-5, NIV. "Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others."
