JUDGMENT (2)

(Message by Tanny Keng)

1. Bible Topic

a) To learn what the Bible has to say on a variety of topics affecting our everyday lives, we may find what we are looking for here.

2. Judgment

a) What view of the judgment scene was given Daniel? It's in the Bible, Daniel 7:9-10, TLB. "I watched as thrones were put in place and the Ancient of Days—the Almighty God—sat down to judge. His clothing was as white as snow, His hair like whitest wool. He sat upon a fiery throne brought in on flaming wheels, and a river of fire flowed from before Him. Millions of angels ministered to Him and hundreds of millions of people stood before Him, waiting to be judged. Then the court began its session and The Books were opened."

b) Who will be the judge? It's in the Bible, John 5:22, NIV. "Moreover, for the Father judges no one, but has entrusted all judgment to the Son."

c) In the judgment court room Christ is our defense attorney. It's in the Bible, I John 2:1, NKJV "My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous."

d) What evidence does the defense present on our behalf? It's in the Bible, Revelation 3:5, TLB. "Everyone who conquers will be clothed in white, and I will not erase his name from the Book of Life, but I will announce before My Father and His angels that he is Mine."

e) God has given Jesus to be a just judge, and our justifier to those who have faith in Him. It's in the Bible, Romans 3:25-26, NIV.  "God presented Him as a sacrifice of atonement, through faith in his blood. He did this to demonstrate His justice, because in His forbearance He had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished— He did it to demonstrate His justice at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus."

f) We have no need to fear the judgment, for if God is on our side who can be against us? It's in the Bible, Romans 8:31-34 NIV.  "What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. Who is he that condemns? Christ Jesus, who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.
