0. Jesus & the 10 commandments
(Text: Exodus 20:3-17)

1. 6th Commandment

a) The 10 Commandments said ...

i) 13 “You shall not murder." (Exodus 20:13 NKJV)

b) Jesus said ...

i) 22 But I say to you that whoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment. And whoever says to his brother, ‘Raca!’ shall be in danger of the council. But whoever says, ‘You fool!’ shall be in danger of hell fire." (Matthew 5:22 NKJV)

2. 7th Commandment

a) The 10 Commandments said ...

i) 14 “You shall not commit adultery." (Exodus 20:14 NKJV)

b) Jesus said ...

i) 28 But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart." (Matthew 5:28 NKJV)

3. 8th Commandment

a) The 10 Commandments said ...

i) 15 “You shall not steal." (Exodus 20:15 NKJV)

b) Jesus said ...

i) 40 If anyone wants to sue you and take away your tunic, let him have your cloak also." (Matthew 5:40 NKJV)

4. 9th Commandment

a) The 10 Commandments said ...

i) 16 “You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor." (Exodus 20:16 NKJV)

b) Jesus said ...

i) 36 But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment. (Matthew 12:36 NKJV)

5. 10th Commandment

a) The 10 Commandments said ...

i) 17 “You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor’s.” (Exodus 20:17 NKJV)

b) Jesus said ...

i) 15 And He said to them, “Take heed and beware of covetousness, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses.” (Luke 12:15 NKJV)
