THE NAMES OF JESUS (2)

0. Introduction

a) Scattered among the vivid images of the book of Revelation is a large collection of names for Jesus. Each one tells something of his character and highlights a particular aspect of his role within God' plan of redemption.

1. Reference: Revelation 1:18

i) 18 I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death. (Revelation 1:18 NKJV)

a) Jesus' Name

i) He who lives.

2. Reference: Revelation 2:18

i) 18 “And to the angel of the church in Thyatira write, ‘These things says the Son of God, who has eyes like a flame of fire, and His feet like fine brass. (Revelation 2:18 NKJV)

a) Jesus' Name

i) Son of God.

3. Reference: Revelation 3:14

i) 14 “And to the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write, ‘These things says the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God. (Reveation 3:14 NKJV)

a) Jesus' Name

i) True Witness.

4. Reference: Revelation 4:11

i) 11 “You are worthy, O Lord, To receive glory and honor and power; For You created all things, And by Your will they exist and were created.” (Revelation 4:11 NKJV)

a) Jesus' Name

i) Creator.

5. Reference: Revelation 5:5 

i) 5 But one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep. Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has prevailed to open the scroll and to loose its seven seals.” (Revelation 5:5 NKJV)

i) Lion of the tribe of Judah.
