NUMBER THREE (3-15)

0. Introduction

a) 3 stands for that which is solid, real, substantial, complete, and entire. All things that are specially complete are stamped with this number. It is interesting to note what other mention(s) for 3 can be found in the Bible.

1. What does the number 3 symbolize in the first chapter of Revelation?

a) The first or introductory section of the Revelation of Jesus Christ is specially marked by this great Divine seal stamped upon it in chapter 1.

i) verse 1. This Revelation is--

Divinely given,
Divinely sent,
Divinely signified.

ii) verse 2. John bare record of--

The Divine "Word of God."
The Divine witness ("the Testimony of Jesus Christ").
The Divine vision ("all things that he saw").

iii) verse 3. The Divine blessing on--

The reader,
The hearer, and
The keeper of this record.

iv) verses 4 and 8. The Divine Being--

Which was,
And which is,
And which is to come.

v) verse 5. The Coming Lord is presented as--

The Divine Prophet ("the faithful witness").
The Divine Priest ("the first-begotten from the dead").
The Divine King ("the Prince of the kings of the earth").

vi) verses 5, 6. His people are Divinely--

Loved,
Cleansed, and
Crowned.

vii) verses 17, 18. Christ is presented as--

"The first and the last" (Divinely eternal).
The dead and living One (Divinely living).
The omnipotent One (Divinely powerful).

viii) verse 19. The Divine Revelation--

The things which thou hast seen,
Which are, and
Which shall be after these things.
