0. Introduction
a) 3 stands for that which is solid, real, substantial, complete, and entire. All things that are specially complete are stamped with this number. It is interesting to note what other mention(s) for 3 can be found in the Bible.
1. The Three-fold Combinations of a Number
a) The combinations of a number denotes the essence of its meaning, the concentration of the significance is thus expressed:
i) 444 is the Gematria (substituting numbers for letters) of the word "DAMASCUS," which is the oldest city in the world; four being the world number.
ii) 666 is the number of man, and it symbolizes fitly, therefore, the essence of human wisdom, and also of imperfection.
iii) 888 is the Gematria (substituting numbers for letters) of the name "JESUS."
iv) 999 is connected with judgment, hence the numerical value of the phrase 'my wrath' is 999. The same number is very prominent in the judgment on Sodom.
