SPIRIT OF KNOWLEDGE & FEAR OF THE LORD
(Message by Tanny Keng)
1. The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord
a) Knowledge – da’ath: knowledge–of the deep things of God, to perceive.
(1 Corinthians 12:8)
…to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit,
b) The fear of God is the beginning of the knowledge of God. It is impossible to know God without having the most awesome trembling respect of Him.
(Proverbs 1:7)
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, But fools despise wisdom and instruction.
(Proverbs 17:27 NKJV)
He who has knowledge spares his words, And a man of understanding is of a calm spirit.
(Hosea 6:6 NKJV)
For I desire mercy and not sacrifice, And the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.
(Jeremiah 22:16 NLT)
He made sure that justice and help were given to the poor and needy, and everything went well for him. Isn’t that what it means to know me?” asks the LORD.
(1 Corinthians 2:10-14 NKJV)
But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. {11} For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God. {12} Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God. {13} These things we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual. {14} But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
(Ephesians 1:17-19 NKJV)
that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, {18} the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, {19} and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power

the inner man, {17} that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith;
that you, being rooted and grounded in love, {18} may be able to
comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth
and height; {19} to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that
you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
