REPENTANCE (8)
(Message by Tanny Keng)
1. Repentance
a) Approaching God always begins with repentance. Repentance means turning away from everything that keeps you from a holy relationship with God, and turning toward God with your whole heart. Jesus says that He came to call sinners to repentance. There will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance.
2. Other Scriptures
(Matthew 4:17)
From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”
(Matthew 9:12-13)
When Jesus heard that, He said to them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. {13} “But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy and not sacrifice.’ For I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.”
(Mark 1:14-15)
Now after John was put in prison, Jesus came to Galilee, preaching the Gospel of the kingdom of God, {15} and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.”
(Mark 6:12-13)
So they went out and preached that people should repent. {13} And they cast out many demons, and anointed with oil many who were sick, and healed them.
