REPENTANCE (12)
(Message by Tanny Keng)
1. Repentance
a) Approaching God always begins with repentance. Repentance means turning away from everything that keeps you from a holy relationship with God, and turning toward God with your whole heart. Jesus says that He came to call sinners to repentance. There will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance.
2. Other Scriptures
(2 Corinthians 7:10)
For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death.
(2 Peter 3:9-10)
The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. {10} But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.
(Revelation 2:4-5)
“Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love. {5} “Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place; unless you repent.
