The Call to Remember

Psalm 103:2-5 is a call to remember. The psalmist exhorts his own soul: "Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits." It is a deliberate act of the will to recall what God has done. It is a conscious decision to refuse forgetfulness. God wants you to remember all the benefits that Jesus has purchased for you with His blood. It is His heart to see you enjoying every single benefit, every single blessing, and every single favor from Him in the new covenant of His grace. These benefits are not earned; they are received. The Forgiveness of Sins

Who forgives all your iniquities. This is the first and greatest benefit. God does not hold your sins against you. He does not keep a record of your wrongs. When you confess your sins, He is faithful and just to forgive you and to cleanse you from all unrighteousness. He removes your transgressions as far as the east is from the west. He remembers your sins no more. This is not a one-time forgiveness; it is a continuous, abundant, and complete forgiveness. Every sin, every failure, every shortcoming is covered by the blood of Jesus. You are forgiven. You are cleansed. You are free.

The Healing of Diseases

Who heals all your diseases. This is a promise of health and wholeness. Isaiah 53:3-5 declares that Jesus was wounded for our transgressions, bruised for our iniquities, and by His stripes we are healed. He took our sicknesses and bore our diseases. He paid the price for our physical healing as well as our spiritual salvation. Healing is not something we earn; it is something we receive. It is part of the benefits of the new covenant. God desires for you to walk in health and wholeness. He is the One who heals all your diseases.

The Redemption from Destruction

Who redeems your life from destruction. This is a promise of divine protection. Psalm 91:3-7 declares that He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the perilous pestilence. He shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you shall take refuge. You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day. A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand, but it shall not come near you. No evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling. He gives His angels charge over you to keep you in all your ways. This is not a promise of immunity from every trial, but it is a promise of divine protection and deliverance.

The Crowning with Lovingkindness

Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies. This is a promise of divine favor. Psalm 5:12 declares that with favor, He will surround you as with a shield. His lovingkindness is not just a feeling; it is a covering. His tender mercies are not just occasional; they are new every morning. He crowns you with His favor. He showers you with His compassion. He treats you not as your sins deserve but with kindness and mercy that flow from His heart. This is the crown He places upon your head—not a crown of thorns, but a crown of lovingkindness and tender mercy.

The Satisfaction with Good Things

Who satisfies your mouth with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's. This is a promise of provision and renewal. Psalm 84:11 declares that no good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly. He satisfies your desires with good things. He fills your mouth with praise and your heart with joy. And He renews your strength like the eagle's. Even when your flesh and your heart fail, God is the strength of your heart and your portion forever. He gives you fresh strength, renewed vigor, and sustained vitality. He does not leave you weary; He renews you.

The Joy of the Giver

These are all precious gifts from the Lord to you, and it brings Him unspeakable joy when He sees you enjoying these gifts and succeeding in life. God is not a reluctant giver; He is a joyful giver. He delights in blessing His children. He rejoices when you walk in forgiveness, health, protection, favor, and provision. It is not a burden to Him; it is a pleasure. He does not bless you grudgingly; He blesses you lavishly. So do not forget His benefits. Do not take them for granted. Receive them with gratitude. Enjoy them with joy. And bless the Lord with all your soul.

Forget not all His benefits. He forgives your sins. He heals your diseases. He redeems your life from destruction. He crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercy. He satisfies your mouth with good things and renews your strength. These are His gifts to you. Receive them. Thank Him for them. And let your life be a testimony of His goodness.
