KEEP MOVING FORWARD

KEEP MOVING FORWARD

Bible Verse: Philippians 3:13–14

“Forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.”

1-Minute Explanation

Paul understood that the past can become either a foundation or a prison. Past victories can create complacency, while past failures can create shame. Paul refused to allow either one to stop his progress. He focused on what God was still doing and pressed forward toward the calling ahead. Christian maturity requires the ability to learn from yesterday without living permanently in yesterday.

THE TWIST

The question is not simply, “What happened to me?” The deeper question is, “What am I doing with what happened to me?”

WHAT CAN I LEARN?

I learn that yesterday's success is not today's assignment, and yesterday's failure does not have to become tomorrow's identity. God can use both victories and mistakes as part of my formation.

HOW DOES IT APPLY TO ME?

Am I still living in regret? Am I constantly talking about what God did years ago while ignoring what He may be asking me to do now? I should learn from the past, but I must continue moving forward.

FINAL REFLECTIONS

The road ahead deserves attention. I cannot run effectively while continually looking backward. There are things God has not yet completed in my life, and I must remain available for the next chapter.

PRAYER

Lord, help me release what I cannot change. Teach me to learn from the past without becoming trapped by it. Give me courage to press forward and faith to embrace what You are doing in the next season of my life. Amen.

TAKEAWAY

Learn from the past, but do not build your future there.
