GOD ALWAYS DOES SOMETHING NEW!
A Response to "God Always Does Something New"
The Purpose of Ministry
If God has given you a ministry or an assignment, it is meant to lift Him up. The primary focus is the Father's business, not the ministry or the assignment itself. The ministry or the assignment is a means and not an end. It is a vehicle to bring glory to God, not a platform to promote yourself. When we lose sight of this, we drift from our calling. We begin to build our own kingdoms instead of His. We start to seek our own recognition instead of His honor. The ministry becomes about us rather than about Him. This is a subtle but deadly shift. We must constantly remind ourselves that we are servants, not masters. The work is His, not ours. The glory is His, not ours.
The Cloud of Visibility
Oftentimes, we are clouded by what we can see and thus being pulled away by it. We become distracted by visible results—numbers, size, influence, and reputation. We measure success by what can be counted rather than by what can be valued. We focus on the external rather than the eternal. For that reason, we have missed the mark. We have confused activity with fruitfulness, popularity with faithfulness, and size with significance. But God sees differently. He looks at the heart. He measures by obedience, not by outcomes. He values faithfulness, not fame. We must not be clouded by what we can see. We must fix our eyes on what is unseen.
The Legacy of Success
The real success of any ministry or assignment is the legacy you have left behind for the very purpose of your calling. It is not an attainment of a great name for yourself or the size of the congregation but the continuity of the Father's business. What will remain after you are gone? Will the work continue? Will others be raised up to carry it forward? Will the impact endure? Legacy is not about building monuments to yourself; it is about building a foundation for others to build upon. It is about pouring your life into others so that they can carry the vision forward. It is about leaving behind a generation that will continue the Father's business long after you are gone.
The Seasons of Ministry
Every ministry or assignment has its own season. When it has reached its harvest, a new ministry or a new assignment will begin. God always does something new. We must not cling to the past. We must not be afraid of change. We must not hold onto what God is ready to release. Seasons come and go. Ministries have a beginning, a middle, and an end. When one season ends, another begins. God is always moving forward. He is always doing something new. If we hold on to the old, we will miss the new. If we cling to what was, we will miss what is to come.
God Always Does Something New
Isaiah 43:19 declares, "Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?" God is not stagnant. He is not repetitive. He is not confined to the past. He is always at work, always creating, always moving. His new thing may be different from what we expected. It may challenge our comfort zones. It may require us to let go of what we have known. But it is always for our good and His glory. Do not resist the new thing. Do not fear it. Embrace it. Trust that the same God who led you in the past is leading you into the future. He is faithful. He is good. And He always does something new.
Final Reflection
God always does something new. Do not be distracted by the visible. Do not be bound by the past. Do not measure success by the size of your congregation or the greatness of your name. Measure it by the legacy you leave behind and the continuity of the Father's business. Embrace the seasons of ministry. Let go of the old and welcome the new. Trust that God is doing something fresh in your life and in His church. He is always working. He is always moving. And He is always doing something new.
Prayer for New Seasons
Lord, help me to see what You are doing. Do not let me be clouded by what I can see. Help me to focus on Your business, not my own. Help me to leave a legacy that continues Your work beyond my years. Help me to embrace the new thing You are doing. Give me faith to let go of the past and to step into the future You have prepared for me. I trust that You always do something new, and I want to be part of it. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
