WAIT UPON THE LORD
Bible Verse: Isaiah 40:31
“But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles.”
1-Minute Explanation
Waiting is one of the hardest disciplines of faith because we naturally want immediate answers. Yet Scripture presents waiting on God as an active expression of trust. Waiting does not mean doing nothing. It means remaining faithful while trusting God's timing. During seasons of waiting, God may be developing our character, strengthening our faith and preparing circumstances that we cannot yet see.
THE TWIST
The question is not simply, “How long must I wait?” The deeper question is, “What is God developing in me while I wait?”
WHAT CAN I LEARN?
I learn that delay does not necessarily mean denial. God can use waiting seasons to develop patience, perseverance and deeper dependence upon Him.
HOW DOES IT APPLY TO ME?
Am I becoming frustrated because God's timing is slower than mine? Am I tempted to force an outcome because I am tired of waiting? I need to distinguish between faithful action and impatient interference.
FINAL REFLECTIONS
Sometimes the waiting season is part of the preparation. What God is doing within me may be just as important as what He is preparing around me.
PRAYER
Lord, teach me to wait well. When answers are delayed, keep me from becoming discouraged or impatient. Renew my strength and help me remain faithful while I wait for Your timing. Develop in me the character You desire. In Jesus' name, Amen.
TAKEAWAY
God can use the waiting season to prepare me for the answer.
