GOD SEES WHAT YOU DON’T

GOD SEES WHAT YOU DON’T

There are moments when you look at your life and wonder, “What is God doing?” You can see the problem, but you cannot see the solution. You can see the closed door, but you cannot see the door God may be preparing to open. You can see the delay, but you cannot see what is taking place during the delay.

Our greatest limitation is that we see only what is in front of us. God sees what is behind us, what is before us, and what is happening beyond our present understanding. We see the moment; God sees the entire journey. We see the circumstance; God sees the purpose.

KEY SCRIPTURE

“For we walk by faith, not by sight.” — 2 Corinthians 5:7

Faith becomes necessary precisely because there are things we cannot see.

When Abraham left his homeland, he did not know every detail of where God was taking him. Hebrews 11:8 tells us that Abraham obeyed and went out, even though he did not know where he was going. His obedience was based not on complete information but on confidence in the One who had spoken.

That is often how God leads us.

You may not understand why something is happening. You may not understand why an opportunity disappeared, why a relationship changed, why an expected answer has been delayed, or why the road ahead looks uncertain. But your lack of understanding does not mean God lacks understanding.

God sees what you don't.

YOU SEE THE PRESENT; GOD SEES THE PURPOSE

We often interpret our circumstances according to what they look like today. But God is not limited to today.

Joseph saw a pit.

God saw a palace.

Joseph experienced slavery.

God saw leadership.

Joseph experienced prison.

God saw preparation.

What appeared to Joseph as a series of unfortunate circumstances was actually part of a larger divine purpose.

This does not mean every painful circumstance is good in itself. It means God is capable of working through circumstances that we would never have chosen.

YOU DON'T NEED TO SEE EVERYTHING TO TRUST GOD

One of the greatest tests of faith is trusting God without having all the answers.

If God showed you the entire journey before you began, faith would often become unnecessary. But God frequently gives enough light for the next step rather than enough light for the entire road.

That is why Proverbs 3:5–6 tells us to trust in the Lord rather than lean completely on our own understanding.

You may not know what is happening.

But God does.

You may not know when the answer will come.

But God does.

You may not know where the present season is leading.

But God does.

And that is enough to keep walking.

THE TWIST

The thing you cannot see may actually be the most important thing happening.

While you are looking for an external change, God may be developing something internal. While you are waiting for the situation to change, God may be changing you.

Sometimes the greatest miracle is not what God changes around you but what He develops within you.

WHAT CAN I LEARN?

I can learn that limited visibility does not mean limited divine activity.

I can learn to stop demanding complete explanations before I obey God.

I can learn that faith does not require me to understand everything. Faith requires me to trust the One who understands everything.

HOW DOES IT APPLY TO ME?

When you cannot see what God is doing, don't automatically conclude that nothing is happening.

Continue praying.

Continue obeying.

Continue serving.

Continue believing.

Continue walking.

Your responsibility is faithfulness. God's responsibility is the outcome.

FINAL REFLECTION

What are you currently facing that you cannot understand?

Instead of repeatedly asking, “Why can't I see what God is doing?” ask, “Can I trust God even when I cannot see?”

You may not have the full picture, but you have the God who holds the picture.

CONCLUSION

God sees what you don't.

Your vision is limited, but His is not. Your understanding is partial, but His is complete. You may be standing in the middle of a chapter that makes little sense, but God already knows how the story unfolds.

Don't let what you cannot see cause you to doubt the One who sees everything.

PRAYER

Lord, help me to trust You when I cannot understand what You are doing. When I cannot see the answer, give me faith to keep believing. When I cannot see the way forward, give me courage to take the next step. Help me not to judge Your faithfulness by my circumstances. Teach me to trust Your wisdom, Your purpose, and Your timing. In Jesus' name, Amen.
