FAMILY PRAYER STATION

1. Purpose

a) Below is a guide you can use to initiate a prayer station for your family. It is important that family gets together to pray. Just before you do that (or have already done) you may want to initiate it for the first time to start off for your own family prayer station.

b) It is also intended to see what God can do for you when you have a prayer station for your own family.

2. Introduction

a) In Luke 19: 10, Jesus said that he came primarily to seek and save the lost.

i) 19 For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” (Luke 19:10 NIV)

b) Who are the lost?

i) Those who do not know the way to our Heavenly Father,

ii) Those who lost their jobs,

iii) Those whose business is almost winding up,

iv) Those whose heavens above are unyielding as bronze, and the earth beneath as iron,

v) Those who sow much but reap little,

vi) Those who are sickly most of the time, etc...

c) Why?

i) Because we all have sinned and our sin separates us from God. Therefore, we need to repent and come back to God, our Heavenly Father and start to build a prayer station for our needs in the family.

ii) So, you can start off with:

3. Personal Repentance

a) When the Temple was finally finished (1 Kings 7:51), King Solomon prayed to God..

i) 28 Yet give attention to your servant's prayer and his plea for mercy, Lord my God. Hear the cry and the prayer that your servant is praying in your presence this day. 29 May your eyes be open toward this temple night and day, this place of which you said, 'My Name shall be there,' so that you will hear the prayer your servant prays toward this place. 30 Hear the supplication of your servant and of your people Israel when they pray toward this place. Hear from heaven, your dwelling place, and when you hear, forgive. (1 Kings 8:28-30 NIV)

b) When you sinned, heavens would shut up and you would not be able to receive heavenly blessings...

i) 35 "When the heavens are shut up and there is no rain because your people have sinned against you, and when they pray toward this place and give praise to your name and turn from their sin because you have afflicted them, 36 then hear from heaven and forgive the sin of your servants, your people Israel. Teach them the right way to live, and send rain on the land you gave your people for an inheritance. (1 Kings 8:35, 36 NIV)

c) Prayer requests

i) Ask the Lord to search and circumcise your hearts that you become tender and sensitive to his word and tender to his voice.

@1. 18"They will return to it and remove all its vile images and detestable idols. 19 I will give them an undivided heart and put a new spirit in them; I will remove from them their heart of stone and give them a heart of flesh. 20 Then they will follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws. They will be my people, and I will be their God. (Ezekiel 11:18-20 NIV)

ii) Ask the Lord to forgive our sins, the sins of our family so that the Lord will hear our prayers and that God will visit us with healing and restoration.

@1. Then I (Nehemiah) said: 5"Lord, the God of heaven, the great and awesome God, who keeps his covenant of love with those who love him and keep his commandments, 6 let your ear be attentive and your eyes open to hear the prayer your servant is praying before you day and night for your servants, the people of Israel. I confess the sins we Israelites, including myself and my father's family, have committed against you. 7 We have acted very wickedly toward you. We have not obeyed the commands, decrees and laws you gave your servant Moses. (Nehemiah 1:5-7 NIV)

iii) Ask the Lord to teach us his ways and to guide us by his word to walk according to his plans and purposes during this time of prayer.

@1. 18 Open my eyes that I may see wonderful things in your law. (Psalm 119:18 NIV)

iv) Ask God to create a hunger in you for more of him this year.

@1. 6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. (Matthew 5:6 NIV)

v) Ask the Lord to look upon you with favors and breakthrough miracles during this time of prayer.

@1. 29 May your eyes be open toward this temple night and day, this place of which you said, 'My Name shall be there,' so that you will hear the prayer your servant prays toward this place. (1 Kings 8:29 NIV)

vi) Ask the Lord to restore that all you have lost last year and all previous years and for God to help you flow in the grace of this new season of dominion.

@1. 25 "I will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten — the great locust and the young locust, the other locusts and the locust swarm — my great army that I sent among you. (Joel 2:25 NIV)

4. Dominion over Sin & Death

a) Prayer requests

i) Ask the Lord to forgive and deliver you from your wrong doings and wrong thinking.

@1. Prayer: "Lord Jesus, deliver us from every sin that rule over our life."

ii) Ask the Lord to direct your steps and help you not to let sin have dominion over you.

@1. Prayer: "Lord Jesus, direct our steps and help us not to let sin have dominion over us."

iii) Ask the Lord to create in you a clean heart.

@1. 10 Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. 11 Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me. (Psalm 51:10-11 NIV)

@2. Prayer: "Lord Jesus, wash and cleanse us with the blood of Jesus."

5. Family Prayer

a) Family confession of sins:

i) Sin of ancestral / idol worship... Gods made of wood, stone, silver and gold.

ii) Sin of immorality... fornication and adultery.

iii) Sin of greed and manipulation.

iv) Sin of stealing, defrauding and telling lie.

@1. 11 Ye shall not steal, neither deal falsely, neither lie one to another. (Leviticus 19:11 KJV)

v) Sin of sowing discord / disunity amongst family members, in church etc.

vi) Sin of getting into debts... credit cards, borrowings, loans, spending more than can afford causing grief, difficulty and hardship.

vii) Sin of gambling... Magnum 4D, casino etc.

viii) Sin of addiction... drugs, pornography etc.

ix) Sin of witchcraft... rebellion against established authority.

b) Family declaration of blessings

i) Family salvation... immediate family, uncles, aunties, nieces, nephews etc.

ii) Good health... healing of primary or secondary high blood pressure, heart diseases, poly cystic kidneys, diabetes, blood disorders etc.

iii) Prosperity... business or job promotion.

6. Initiating a Family Prayer Station

@1. 24"Build for me an altar made of earth, and offer your sacrifices to me—your burnt offerings and peace offerings, your sheep and goats, and your cattle. Build my altar (a living prayer station) wherever I cause my name to be remembered, and I will come to you and bless you. (Exodus 20:24 NLT)

a) Setting up a living prayer station in your home is like building an altar unto the Lord, a highway to our to Heavenly Father, who loves to give good gifts to his children. You can be rest assured that by doing this, you can expect to receive his richest blessings on earth.

@1. 7“Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 8Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? 9If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him! (Matthew 7:9-11 NIV)

@2. 11“Which of you fathers, if your son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead? 12 Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? 13If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!” (Luke 11:11-13 NIV)

b) So, start building and exercising what the Scripture has said. The only way to get guaranteed answer to your prayer is to declare what God has said and what he has said, he cannot retract it but he has to grant to the your declared requests according to his given word. This is the key!

c) The only reason for initiating this act is to birth (activate) a living prayer station for your own family.

d) The living prayer station is not tied to a particular place home but rather towards the gathering of God's people to declare and agree with God for the fulfillment of his written word for family especially in the marketplace.

e) You can have it anytime and anywhere when you get together as a family. The living prayer station requires a minimum of 2 or 3 to gather in Jesus' Name for the intended purpose.

@1. 18 Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind (forbid) on earth shall be bound (forbidden) in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose (permit) on earth shall be loosed (permitted) in heaven. 19 Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. 20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. (Matthew 18:18-20 KJV)

f) The purpose for this number 2 or 3 is intended for agreement in prayer touching any thing on earth that you shall ask, it shall be done for you of the Heavenly Father. That's powerful in agreement as a promise.

g) For a family, husband and wife are already qualified. For single, he or she needs to find another partner of like mindedness to meet the requirement.

h) You want to see his marvelous unseen hand at work in your circumstances or situations in life. That is the reason why you want to experience the breakthrough miracles!

i) So, you ought to: Declare! Declare! Declare! Declare! Declare! That's in Job 22:28.

@1. 28 Thou shalt also decree (declare) a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways. (Job 22:28 KJV)

j) God is saying that when you declare a thing on earth, you will succeed in whatever you choose to do, and the light will shine on the road ahead of you. You will know what to do as the direction is clear for you to reach to your destiny.

k) To ensure that the prayer station is alive, you and your family need to meet at least once a month or better still daily.

7. Prayer Focus

i) Pray for God to forgive and deliver you from your wrong doings and wrong thinking.

ii) Pray for the courage to forgive others who wrong against you.

iii) Pray for deliverance & healing of your body, soul (mind, will & emotion) and spirit.

iv) Pray for God's blessings to continually rest upon you.

@1. Jabez's prayer

9 Jabez was more honorable than his brothers, and his mother named him Jabez saying, "Because I bore him with pain." 10 Now Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, "Oh that You would bless me indeed and enlarge my border, and that Your hand might be with me, and that You would keep me from harm that it may not pain me!" And God granted him what he requested. (1 Chronicles 4:9-10 NASB)

v) Pray for the birthing of your family prayer station.

#1) The Cloud on the Tabernacle

@1. 15 Now on the day that the tabernacle was erected the cloud covered the tabernacle, the tent of the testimony, and in the evening it was like the appearance of fire over the tabernacle, until morning.  16 So it was continuously; the cloud would cover it by day, and the appearance of fire by night. (Numbers 9:15-16 NASB)

#2) Prayer

@1. "Lord, on the day the Tabernacle was raised (erected) your Cloud covered it; and that evening your Cloud changed to the appearance of fire, and stayed that way throughout the night. Lord, it was always so - the daytime Cloud changing to the appearance of fire at night.

@2. So, we ask you this day to put the wall of protection around the birthing of our living prayer station so that we may know that you are always there for us. In Jesus' name. Amen."
