TSUNAMIC BLESSINGS
1. Introduction
a) What is a tsunami?
i) In Webster’s Dictionary, tsunami is a huge wave caused by a submarine disturbance, as an earthquake or volcanic eruption (also called tidal wave). When this huge wave comes, nothing can stop against it. It will weep over all things. They will be destroyed or uprooted and carried away back to the sea.
ii) When the blessings of God come like a tsunami, the impact caused is disastrous! Think about it!
b) Let's consider some elements ...
2. Is God for us?
a) 3“ ‘If you follow my decrees and are careful to obey my commands, 4I will send you rain in its season, and the ground will yield its crops and the trees their fruit. 5Your threshing will continue until grape harvest and the grape harvest will continue until planting, and you will eat all the food you want and live in safety in your land. 6" ‘I will grant peace in the land, and you will lie down and no one will make you afraid. I will remove wild beasts from the land, and the sword will not pass through your country. 7You will pursue your enemies, and they will fall by the sword before you. 8Five of you will chase a hundred (20x), and a hundred of you will chase ten thousand (100x) and your enemies will fall by the sword before you. 9" ‘I will look on you with favor and make you fruitful and increase your numbers, and I will keep my covenant with you. 10You will still be eating last year’s harvest when you will have to move it out to make room for the new. (Leviticus 26:3-10 NIV)
3. Do we get 100% harvest?
a) 12Isaac planted crops in that land and the same year reaped a hundredfold (100x), because the Lord blessed him. (Genesis 26:12 NIV)
4. Do we have Joseph's experience of over sufficiency?
a) And sure enough, for the next seven years there were bumper crops everywhere.
i) 47During the seven years of abundance the land produced plentifully. 48Joseph collected all the food produced in those seven years of abundance in Egypt and stored it in the cities. In each city he put the food grown in the fields surrounding it. (Genesis 41:47, 48 NIV)
b) Are we in a position of losing track?
ii) After seven years of this, the granaries were full to overflowing, and there was so much that no one kept track of the amount.
#1) 49Joseph stored up huge quantities of grain, like the sand of the sea; it was so much that he stopped keeping records because it was beyond measure. (Genesis 41:49 NIV)
5. Prayer focus
a) Pray for God’s blessings that have a tsunamic impact so that more people will come to know that there is a living God that performs mighty miracles just as God did for the Israelites in Egypt, in wilderness and in the Promised Land.
