VIRTUOUS WOMAN
1. Who is a virtuous woman?
a) A woman who possesses or is characterized by chastity; pure. A woman who conforms to moral and ethical principles; morally excellent; upright.
2. Proverbs 31:10-31 portrays such a woman.
a) She is a gift from God to her husband. Her worth is far above jewels.

b) Her husband trusts her and she has the anointing to attract prosperity.
#1) 11Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value. (Proverbs 31:11 NIV)
c) She is always a blessing to her husband.
#1) 12She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life. (Proverbs 31:12 NIV)
d) She is a hard worker.
#1) 13She selects wool and flax and works with eager hands. (Proverbs 31:13 NIV)
e) She is resourceful.
#1) 14She is like the merchant ships, bringing her food from afar. (Proverbs 31:14 NIV)
f) She looks out for her family's well being.
#1) 15She gets up while it is still night; she provides food for her family and portions for her female servants. (Proverbs 31:15 NIV)
g) She works in order to leave an inheritance for her children.
#1) 16She considers a field and buys it; out of her earnings she plants a vineyard. (Proverbs 31:16 NIV)
h) She is strong and courageous.
#1) 17She sets about her work vigorously; her arms are strong for her tasks. (Proverbs 31:17 NIV)
i) She is financially discerning and has a sensitive spirit to divine revelations received in dreams.
#1) 18She sees that her trading is profitable, and her lamp does not go out at night. (Proverbs 31:18 NIV)
j) She knows how to do her job.
#1) 19In her hand she holds the distaff and grasps the spindle with her fingers. (Proverbs 31:19 NIV)
k) She has mercy on the needy.
#1) 20She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy. (Proverbs 31:20 NIV)
l) She guards her household.
#1) 21When it snows, she has no fear for her household; for all of them are clothed in scarlet. (Proverbs 31:21 NIV)
m) She is elegant (attractive and graceful in appearance and behaviour).
#1) 22She makes coverings for her bed; she is clothed in fine linen and purple. (Proverbs 31:22 NIV)
n) She encourages her husband in ministry.
#1) 23Her husband is respected at the city gate, where he takes his seat among the elders of the land.(Proverbs 31:23 NIV)
o) She is entrepreneurial.
#1) 24She makes linen garments and sells them, and supplies the merchants with sashes. (Proverbs 31:24 NIV)
p) She prepares for the future events.
#1) 25She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. (Proverbs 31:25 NIV)
q) She always has a word of wisdom and she knows how to practise mercy.
#1) 26She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue. (Proverbs 31:26 NIV)
r) She can carry her own weight without being a burden to anyone.
#1) 27She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. (Proverbs 31:27 NIV)
s) She has her family's respect and admiration.
#1) 28Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her. (Proverbs 31:28 NIV)
t) She is extraordinary and excels above everyone else.
#1) 29“Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.” (Proverbs 31:29 NIV)
u) She is not deceived by outward beauty but puts confidence in God only.
#1) 30Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. (Proverbs 31:30 NIV)
v) Her work speaks more than her words.
#1) 31Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate. (Proverbs 31:31 NIV)
3. Are you such a woman? Do you desire to be such a woman?
a) You can be by allowing God to work out for you according to his word.
