THREE STAGES OF SPIRITUAL MATURITY IN CHRIST: MINISTRY (2)
(Message by Tanny Keng)
1. Ministry
a) As we allow the Spirit of love and power, the Holy Spirit, to flow through us and touch others we become stronger. As God’s love touches people through us we experience His joy. The joy of the Lord is our strength.
b) A Christian’s testimony begins with the story or their salvation but it does not end there. Your testimony is an ongoing revelation of God’s daily work in your life. A person’s testimony glorifies God because it reveals God’s love to other people. The Bible says that Christians are royal priest, and that we are to proclaim the praises of God who called us out of darkness into His light.
(1 Peter 2:9-10 NKJV)
But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;
c) A Christian’s testimony is not about them it is about God.
(1 John 5:11)
And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.
d) God has called every believer with a “holy calling” not according to our works but according to His purpose.
(2 Timothy 1:7-9 NKJV)
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. {8} Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me His prisoner, but share with me in the sufferings for the Gospel according to the power of God, {9} who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began.
