THREE STAGES OF SPIRITUAL MATURITY IN CHRIST: MINISTRY (5)
(Message by Tanny Keng)
1. Ministry
a) Whenever we hear a word from God in our heat calling us into a new area of ministry there are four possible reactions to it as Jesus taught in...
(Luke 8:11-15 NKJV).
“Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God. {12} “Those by the wayside are the ones who hear; then the devil comes and takes away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved. {13} “But the ones on the rock are those who, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, who believe for a while and in time of temptation fall away. {14} “Now the ones that fell among thorns are those who, when they have heard, go out and are choked with cares, riches, and pleasures of life, and bring no fruit to maturity. {15} “But the ones that fell on the good ground are those who, having heard the word with a noble and good heart, keep it and bear fruit with patience.
b) So when we receive a word from God we can expect the devil to try and steal it, temptations to come, and the cares of this life to tempt us with distractions from fulfilling the word.
(Psalms 7:9 NKJV)
Oh, let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end, But establish the just; For the righteous God tests the hearts and minds.
c) But the just shall live by faith. If we do not draw back and accept defeat then we shall see God fulfill His word through us. The people that keep the word will bear fruit by patience. Patience in the Bible means cheerful endurance.
(Hebrews 10:38-39 NKJV)
Now the just shall live by faith; But if anyone draws back, My soul has no pleasure in him.” {39} But we are not of those who draw back to perdition, but of those who believe to the saving of the soul.
