1. Searching for God
a) God created you with the power to choose Him or reject Him because love without choice is not true love. Love is a decision. When you know the God of truth you will know that you can trust Him more than you can trust yourself. Then you will discover that He is also the God of love. Everything that is good comes from Him; light, life, love, truth, and justice.
God’s love is better than life. (Psalms 63:3)
Because God wanted to make the unchanging nature of his purpose very clear to the heirs of what was promised, he confirmed it with an oath. God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope offered to us may be greatly encouraged. (Hebrews 6:17-18 NIV)
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. Do not be carried away by all kinds of strange teachings. It is good for our hearts to be strengthened by grace, not by ceremonial foods, which are of no value to those who eat them. (Hebrews 13:8-9 NIV)
Don’t be deceived, my dear brothers. Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. (James 1:16-17 NIV)
