THE JOY OF BEING THANKFUL
(Message by Tanny Keng)
1. The Joy of being Thankful
(1 Thessalonians 5:16-19 NKJV)
Rejoice always, {17} pray without ceasing, {18} in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. {19} Do not quench the Spirit.
(Deuteronomy 12:7 NKJV)
“And there you shall eat before the LORD your God, and you shall rejoice in all to which you have put your hand, you and your households, in which the LORD your God has blessed you.
(Deuteronomy 26:11 NKJV)
“So you shall rejoice in every good thing which the LORD your God has given to you and your house, you and the Levite and the stranger who is among you.
(Deuteronomy 28:47-48 NKJV)
“Because you did not serve the LORD your God with joy and gladness of heart, for the abundance of everything, {48} “therefore you shall serve your enemies, whom the LORD will send against you, in hunger, in thirst, in nakedness, and in need of everything; and He will put a yoke of iron on your neck until He has destroyed you.
(Philippians 4:4-8 NKJV)
Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! {5} Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. {6} Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; {7} and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. {8} Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy; meditate on these things.
(Psalms 95:1-3 NKJV)
Oh come, let us sing to the LORD! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. {2} Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; Let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms. {3} For the LORD is the great God, And the great King above all gods.
